“ A week of joy and sorrow — where celebrations and loss together shaped unforgettable memories.” Seventh Week  Teaching Practice -25th–29th August  The seventh week of my teaching practice was a fine blend of classroom teaching and examination responsibilities. Plus One students had their internal examinations along with regular Business Studies classes, while Plus Two students were engaged in their Onam examinations. This dual setting gave me the chance to experience the rhythm of both teaching and exam coordination. On 27th August, the high school section celebrated Onam with great joy. Students prepared a beautiful Athapookalam, sang traditional Onappattu, and presented various cultural programmes . We teachers were also invited to share the festive spirit by having payasam, lovingly distributed by our Principal. The Onam mood filled the campus, and the students truly enjoyed the celebrations, adding colour and warmth to the week. In our Higher Secondary department, ...

The week from 11th to 15th August was active in both studies and other activities.  This week was filled with emotions as our C1 class teacher, Rahul Sir, got transferred from GHSS Kilimanur to Government Girls HSS, Mitrumala.  I witnessed the deep bond between teacher and students—the tears, the smiles, the unspoken love. It showed me how much a teacher means in the lives of children, not just through lessons, but through the heart they leave behind. The timetable for the Plus One First Terminal Examinations was issued, and I got the chance to read it in the Plus two C2 class. Students wrote down the exam dates, and I encouraged them to plan their studies properly. In plus one , my classes, I helped students revise the third chapter, explained important points, and cleared their doubts. I also conducted small question–answer sessions, oral quizzes, and group discussions to make revision more interesting. During substitution hours, I used the time for quick revision and...

“Schoolyard turned ballot ground – GHSS Kilimanur writes democracy in action.”

14 August 2025 – Election Day at GHSS Kilimanur Today, GHSS Kilimanur was filled with the vibrant spirit of democracy as the entire school entered election mode. The Principal and presiding officers gave proper instructions, and the process was carried out with the same discipline and seriousness as a real election. From the atmosphere in the classrooms to the procedures followed, the day stood as a practical lesson in democratic values, showing students how leadership is chosen fairly through the will of the majority. In the morning, class elections were held to select Class Leaders. Ballot papers were distributed, polling took place in order, and counting was done with transparency. I had the opportunity to assist in the process, especially in the vote counting section, which gave me firsthand experience of maintaining fairness and responsibility in such duties. By 11:15 a.m., the results were declared, and the joy and excitement of the winners echoed through the corridors of GH...

“Schoolyard-Stories Quiz Competitionwhere curiosity met confidence, and knowledge became celebration.”

Quiz competition– a joyful day of learning, fun, and teamwork at GHSS Kilimanur.” As part of our B.Ed. curriculum, me and my colleague conducted a General Knowledge Quiz Competition for the Plus One Commerce students of GHSS Kilimanur. The aim was to enhance students’ general awareness and knowledge of current affairs, history, science, and commerce-related facts, while fostering teamwork and a healthy competitive spirit. The quiz included different rounds such as general awareness, commerce-related facts, a rapid-fire session, and a visual round. Students participated enthusiastically, discussed actively within their groups, and responded with energy and confidence. The lively atmosphere in the classroom reflected their excitement and eagerness to perform well. For us as B.Ed. trainees, the event was a valuable experience in planning, coordination, and managing co-curricular activities. It helped us gain confidence in leading group programmes and in engaging students beyond class...

“From classrooms to co-curriculars, every moment was a step forward in my teaching journey.”  This week of teaching practice gave me a mix of classroom teaching, school activities, and responsibilities that helped me grow as a teacher trainee. My regular classes in Plus One C1 were interactive and encouraging, with students showing good attention and response. I also handled a substitution class in Accountancy for Class XI C1, where I guided students in solving problems on journal entries, ledgers, and trial balance. Along with this, I also got a chance to enter a Plus Two class as a substitution, where I interacted with senior students and supported them in their assigned work. These experiences strengthened my confidence in handling different classes. Apart from teaching, I actively participated in school programmes. I assisted the NSS team during a quiz competition on AIDS awareness by helping with answer sheet checking, and I joined in the NSS cleaning activity, which promoted t...
