Schoolyard- Stories Three weeks down, countless lessons learned, and a heart full of gratitude.

“From classrooms to co-curriculars, every moment was a step forward in my teaching journey.”

This week of teaching practice gave me a mix of classroom teaching, school activities, and responsibilities that helped me grow as a teacher trainee. My regular classes in Plus One C1 were interactive and encouraging, with students showing good attention and response. I also handled a substitution class in Accountancy for Class XI C1, where I guided students in solving problems on journal entries, ledgers, and trial balance. Along with this, I also got a chance to enter a Plus Two class as a substitution, where I interacted with senior students and supported them in their assigned work. These experiences strengthened my confidence in handling different classes.

Apart from teaching, I actively participated in school programmes. I assisted the NSS team during a quiz competition on AIDS awareness by helping with answer sheet checking, and I joined in the NSS cleaning activity, which promoted teamwork and responsibility. The school also observed a silent prayer for the victims of the Chooralmala landslide, creating an atmosphere of empathy and social concern. I was also given the opportunity to read the School Parliament Election guidelines in front of Class XI C1, which was a proud moment that improved my confidence in public communication. Another inspiring moment was the Career FM programme arranged by the Career Guidance and Adolescence Counselling Cell, which gave students useful insights about future careers and adolescent development.

In short, this week was meaningful and enriching, giving me chances to improve my teaching, take part in school programmes, and realise the wider responsibilities of being a teacher.

Each experience became a stepping stone, shaping me into a more confident and responsible teacher.
